DENTURES

Modern dentistry offers patients many solutions to improve their oral health and enhance their smiles. One of these is dentures (“false teeth”) – prosthetic devices designed as missing teeth replacements. No longer is a person with missing teeth limited to conventional, removable dentures. Today, “implant dentures” are being requested by those who are unhappy with their removable ones.

People experience problems typically with eating and talking while wearing traditional dentures. Implant dentures offer stability and a comfortable, snug fit. They will not cause a person to feel embarrassed due to unwanted shifting or moving.

What Are Implant-Supported Dentures?

Implant-Supported Dentures are a type of replacement teeth. This type of denture is removable and allows you to snap them on and off for convenience. This snap-on function makes the cleaning and maintenance of them hassle-free.

Benefits Of Implant Fixed Dentures

Implant Support Dentures are an excellent solution for patients with missing teeth. They’re better than regular dentures since they offer more support. At the same time, they’re more affordable than advanced full arch dental implants.

Patients with missing teeth and who seek an affordable option to replace them should consider implant dentures. The dentures provide an excellent solution for patients seeking an affordable option. Implant fixed dentures offer a great balance between regular adhesive dentures and expensive full arch implants.

The fantastic benefits that implant-supported dentures provide are:
  • Affordability compared to full arch dental implants
  • Sturdiness without the need for adhesives
  • Provide natural teeth functionality
  • Convenient removability for easy maintenance and cleaning
  • Helps preserve gum tissue and bone

Am I A Candidate For Implant Dentures?

The best candidates for implant dentures are those in good general and oral health and have adequate jaw bone. In general, those who aren’t good candidates for undergoing an implant procedure include:

  • Younger individuals whose jawbones are not fully developed
  • People with specific medical conditions

What’s The Treatment Process For Implant Dentures?

Getting implant-supported dentures is a multi-visit process. First, Dr. Shodhan will perform a thorough exam and consultation. The exam will include any necessary X-rays or CT scans. From the results, he will determine the best course of treatment for you. Implant dentures need two surgeries. The first surgery entails anchoring two titanium implants into the top and bottom jaw. Once the implants heal and fuse to the jawbone, the next step is attaching a small bar to the exposed implants. The bars then lock with the corresponding pieces. This mechanism allows for a comfortable and secure seal. They are preventing any accidental or unintentional slippage.

At Shodhan Dentistry, Dr. Keyur Shodhan commonly meets with patients who would like to replace their missing teeth. He understands that patients feel the embarrassment that comes with wearing traditional dentures. During your consultation with our implant dentist, you will be able to discuss all your concerns and ask any questions. You will learn if you qualify for implant dentures and whether this is the best dental solution for you.
